Teen abducted, raped in Agra hotel, two held

Agra: A 21- year-old man and one of his accomplices were arrested for abducting and raping a minor girl in Agra. The other accomplice is absconding. The 15-year-old survivor, a student of class 9, met the main accused at a religious event six months ago, where he took her number and started calling her. Police said when she refused to meet him, he began threatening her.“On July 17, the accused arrived with his friend and forcibly took her on a bike to a hotel in Pathauli. The main accused raped her and recorded an objectionable video on his mobile phone. Later, his two accomplices took earrings and Rs 15,000 from her after blackmailing her with the video,” police said.
Following a complaint by the survivor, police registered an FIR under various sections of BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) including 65 (1) (rape on a woman under 16 years of age) and 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) and section 3 /4 of the Pocso Act. ACP Mayank Tiwari said, “Records are being checked and CCTV camera footage will be examined. The court has sent the two accused to jail, and efforts are on to apprehend the absconder.”
