Teen abducted, raped; accused filmed video to blackmail her

Agra: A 14-year-old girl was abducted and raped by a 20-year-old man, who later blackmailed her with an obscene video of the crime, police said on Monday. The man allegedly abducted the girl from outside her home and assaulted her at his residence under the jurisdiction of Narkhi police station.
ASP Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said, “The accused was arrested after a late-night encounter on Sunday.He attempted to flee and opened fire on the police but was injured in the leg during retaliatory firing. He is undergoing treatment. The girl has been taken for a medical examination, and the matter is being prbed.” The girl’s father, a truck driver, learned about the assault, which took place on Friday, upon returning home after three days. On Sunday, he filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of an FIR under relevant sections of the BNS and the Pocso Act. Recognising the potential for communal tension, as the survivor and the accused belong to different communities, a heavy police presence deployed in the area.
