Agra: An FIR was registered on Saturday against five people after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped at her home in Agra. The incident took place on June 27, but the girl was too scared to inform anyone until she was blackmailed by the perpetrators. They demanded Rs 10,000, threatening to circulate a video of the crime on social media if she didn’t pay the amount to them.
According to the complaint filed by the survivor’s father, the girl was alone at home when two young men from the village entered and raped her, while three others assisted them.
The accused recorded the crime and threatened to make the video public if she told anyone about the incident.
After enduring several days of threats and blackmail, the girl finally confided in her parents, prompting them to report the crime to the police. ACP AK Singh said, “An FIR has been registered in the matter against the five under BNS section 70 (gangrape). The victim has been taken for a medical examination, and a detailed investigation is underway.” TNN
