Veerpal’s elder brother, Rakesh, said Veerpal, who had worked the night shift, was supposed to return home on Saturday morning.
After a dispute with coworkers, the attackers beat him and used the air compressor to torture him. The excessive air pressure caused severe swelling and unconsciousness. Doctors suggested his nerves may have ruptured due to the pressure.
Rakesh added, “We came to know about the incident when Veerpal was admitted to a private hospital near the factory. Due to inadequate treatment, we moved him to another hospital, where he died.”
DSP Ranjan Sharma said, “The body was sent for the post-mortem and the cause of death is yet to be determined. We are reviewing CCTV footage from the factory. A case will be registered, and legal action taken once the family submits a written complaint.”
