Israeli Strikes on Lebanon: 50 Children, 94 Women Among 558 Killed, nearly 2,000 wounded
The death toll from Israeli bombardment a day earlier has risen to 558, including 50 children and 94 women, in the deadliest day of violence since Hezbollah and Israel went to war in 2006.
"So far, the health ministry has recorded 558 deaths, including 50 children and 94 women," Health Minister Firass Abiad said, adding that "the vast majority, if not all of those killed in yesterday's attacks were unarmed people in their homes."
Around 1,835 people have been wounded in Israel's intense bombardment of several parts of Lebanon, as per Lebanese Health Ministry.

Israel's bombing into Lebanon continued into Tuesday, with Israel Defence Forces stating that it had struck 1,600 of Hezbollah targets overnight and continued to launch attacks as part of what it termed "Operation Northern Arrows".
On the other hand, IDF said Hezbollah continued to launch rockets into northern Israel, with the militant group swearing to continue its campaign until Israel's offensive in Gaza ends.
Israel estimated that Hezbollah has some 150,000 rockets and missiles, including guided missiles and long-range projectiles capable of striking anywhere is Israel.
Monday's escalation came after a particularly heavy exchange of fire Sunday. Hezbollah launched around 150 rockets, missiles an drones into northern Israel in retaliation for strikes that killed top commander and dozens of fighters.
