There may be times when you want to share your Instagram stories with most of your followers, but prefer to keep certain individuals from viewing them. Whether it’s for privacy reasons or to maintain a little more control over who sees your content, Instagram provides an easy way to hide your stories from specific people. Here’s how to do it.
To hide your Instagram story from someone, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Instagram app

Launch the Instagram app on your phone.
Ensure you're logged in to your account.

Step 2: Go to your profile

Tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner to go to your profile.

Step 3: Access story settings

Tap the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top right corner.
Select Settings and privacy from the menu.
Scroll down and tap Story under the "How others can interact with you" section.

Step 4: Hide story from specific people

Tap Hide story from under the "Who can see your story?" section.
You’ll see a list of your followers. Scroll through or use the search bar to find the person(s) you want to hide your story from.
Tap the circle next to their name to select them.
Once selected, tap the back arrow (top left) or just exit to save your changes.

Step 5: Confirm

Now, those specific people will be unable to see your stories or live videos until you change the settings.

Alternative method: Directly from your story viewers

After posting a story, tap on it to see who has viewed it.
Tap the three dots next to the person’s name and choose Hide Story from that person directly.

You can always reverse this by following the same steps and unchecking their name.
