Marc Marquez, a six-time MotoGP world champion, will join the Ducati factory team in 2025, teaming up with reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia. Ducati made the announcement on Wednesday, confirming the much-anticipated move.
Marquez, who is currently riding for Gresini, Ducati's satellite team, will replace Italian rider Enea Bastianini on a two-year contract.
Marquez joined Gresini at the start of 2024 after spending 11 seasons with Honda. Despite riding a 2023-spec bike, he has made a significant impact, currently sitting third overall in the championship standings, just 35 points behind leader Jorge Martin.
Marquez's performance this season has been impressive, considering he has not won a race since October 2021. Notably, he has managed to start from challenging positions, such as P13, and finish on the podium, showcasing his resilience and skill.

Marquez will undoubtedly be relieved and excited to join the factory team after just one season with Gresini.
