Honda has given me the opportunity to race internationally: Mohsin ParambanIn a conversation with Mohsin Paramban, the champion shared his journey and the challenges he has faced. "It's pure passion," the youngster explained when asked what drew him to motorsports. Recalling his childhood days, he mentioned watching MotoGP races with a friend, each rooting for their favorite riders. "He was a fan of Rossi, and I was a fan of
Marquez," Mohsin said. He then highlighted the aggression and skill that inspired him, something we can all recall from Marquez’s early days and even today. However, there’s a similar prodigy on the grid this season, known as Pedro Acosta. When asked about his views on him, he added "Pedro Acosta is showing his talent at just 20, competing with pro riders and already securing podiums," he noted.
Mohsin's journey has not been without challenges. "The most difficult time was the starting stage because there was no one to guide me," he said. Despite the lack of support and initial resistance from his family, Mohsin persevered, secretly pursuing his passion until his first podium finish made them aware of his talent.”
When asked about advice for aspiring riders, Mohsin spoke about the importance of fitness. "Fitness is more important than motorcycle racing. You need to be fit mentally and physically," he advised. He also highlighted the significance of practice and the need for strong forearms, neck, shoulders, and legs to handle the physical demands of racing.
Reflecting on his major crash in 2023, Mohsin shared how it taught him the value of strategic thinking over aggression. "It's not just going aggressive; it's more thinking. The more you think, the faster you can be," he explained.
Looking ahead, Mohsin also expressed his gratitude towards Honda for their support. "Honda has given me the opportunity to race internationally in the Asia Road Racing Championship. I'm trying to do better round by round," he said. Despite challenges in securing sponsorships, particularly in his home state of Kerala, Mohsin remains focused on his training and racing.
"I'm a middle-class guy driven by passion and targets," he said, highlighting the financial challenges. Yet, with determination and support from Honda, Mohsin is committed to making it big in the world of motorsports.
