Mahindra and Mahindra recently launched the much-awaited Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV in the Indian market. The bookings for the new Roxx will begin from October 3 while deliveries are set to commence from Dussehra 2024. Test drives of the Roxx will begin on September 14.
And now, just like how Mahindra auctioned the first unit of a three-door Thar back in 2020. The company is auctioning the first customer unit of the Mahindra Thar Roxx, with VIN 0001. The company has started online registrations for this auction, and the funds raised will be donated to a non-profit organisation of the winner's choice. The bidding for the SUV will begin on September 15, 2024, at 5 PM online, and will end the next day at 7 PM.
Interested customers can head to the Mahindra website and register for the auction. The auction winner can choose between these four non-profit organisations - Naandi Foundation (Empowering Girls and Women), BAIF Development Research Foundation (Watershed and Rural Livelihood Development), Watershed Organization Trust (Integrated Water Resource Management and Agriculture) and UNITED WAY MUMBAI (Promoting Road Safety).
Talking about the model that will be auctioned, it’s the top-spec AX7 L diesel automatic 4WD variant of the Thar Roxx, and the winner can choose from all seven colour options - Deep Forest, Everest White, Tango Red, Battleship Grey, Nebula Blue, Burnt Sienna, or Stealth Black. The Thar Roxx with ‘VIN 0001’ will also have a badge with Anand Mahindra’s signature on it.
The Roxx is available in six variants - MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L and AX7L with prices starting from Rs 12.99 lakh for the MX1 base petrol MT, going up to Rs 20.49 lakh for the AX7L diesel MT, ex-showroom introductory. Prices of the 4x4 variants will be announced later.
Talking about the powertrain, the Roxx is offered with two engine options - 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which puts out 162hp, 330Nm and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine which puts out 152hp, 330Nm of torque. Both engines comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
